Cool concept...I like the idea of having this creapy parasite monster as a Death Colossus...Probably the legs are too light to hold the amount of weight for the rest of the body, unless this dude has a kind of gas, air exoskeleton that makes his body get lighter, but in this case the massive head and body, makes me think that his legs will break...just my thoughts...great rendering and concept...Cheers
thanks mate that's one of the things i struggled with in the design - i'm a big stickler for 'it needs to look like it makes sense', but at the same time i really wanted to go for an alien, demi-god kind of look. the leg/body ratio were pretty much inspired by Dali's 'Temptation of St. Anthony' - i am not too sure it was successful!
Regarding this message...Yeah you said "I'm a big stickler for 'it needs to look like it makes sense" well man that just the thinking of a truly concept designer, we both know that technique and is something that comes out with time , and proper use of the tools...but design is something we have to expended a lot time thinking on, make sense, and sell this into a very professional manner...Still is a cool design, I hope you can make the actual concept design, could be cool to see his abilites and such, as well the different posses...Thanks for sharing good luck in the contest, and we will post each other, hopefully in the next time...I just hope that I can finish my image by the weekend, I found out about this last friday, and at Sunday I spent some thinking on how design, who she was, what kind gameplay, should look like, what kind things I could make, to get into a whole new category, and well I been on the rendering last 4 days, and hoping to finish by late Saturaday night...Anyways take care mate ...Cheers
Haha, well usually my first ideas aren't my strongest either so I suppose it's only natural . As a tiny bit of critique though, if you don't mind, wouldn't a different background suit it better? Or at least a different color. I like the idea of him being in a void of sorts, but the bright white is a little eyeburning and waters down the values of your colossus I think. A tone of grey or blueish grey might work better?
hmm you're right, i'm wondering if maybe just doing a sort of simple wash of color will be alright and not kill it D: i don't mind, thank you for the input! i'll try a couple different things, the blueish-grey sounds good.
